Which Open Day should you go to?

Our different Open Days are designed to make us accessible to all, and also to provide you with the tailored information that’s most relevant to you. Take a look at the different Open Days, explained below, to find out which one you’re most interested in.

This will give you a taste of life at Baker McKenzie. Get involved in interactive workshops where you’ll learn more about us and pick up a few new skills while you’re at it. Hear from leading lawyers in different practice groups and broaden your network.
We don’t just talk about equality; we take steps to make sure people of all ethnic backgrounds are treated and represented fairly. You’ll hear about the journeys of like-minded lawyers and we’ll share firm initiatives that aim to increase diversity. Plus, you’ll get stuck in with interactive workshops, practice group overviews and we’ll give you handy application tips. And just like our other Open Days, you’ll be networking with brilliant people in the industry.
A huge inequality is well-known throughout the legal sector – that people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds often face barriers which prevent them from entering into the legal sector. We’re breaking down these barriers. We’re ranked 5th in the Social Mobility Index, which makes us the highest performing law firm in this category. We use this Open Day to increase awareness of the need for diversity in law, and also to give those from low income backgrounds the confidence to consider a career with us. Plus, just like at every other Open Day, you’ll be getting involved in interactive workshops and practice group overviews. We’ll give you application tips and you’ll network with inspiring people at the firm.
We’re aiming to help those with disabilities overcome the fears they face when applying for graduate roles. We’ll give you handy application tips and will be hosting a dedicated session on wellbeing. And of course, just like at every other Open Day, you can join interactive workshops and practice group overviews.
Named as Best International Law Firm for Women three years in a row, Baker McKenzie is committed to championing women in the workplace. You’ll hear more about our global targets to achieve a workplace that’s 40% women, 40% men and 20% flexible (women, men or non-binary persons) by July 2025. And of course, just like at every other Open Day, you can get involved in interactive workshops and practice group overviews. We’ll give you application tips and you’ll network with inspiring people at the firm.
49% of our graduates have no prior background in law. So if you’re a non-law student considering a career in the legal sector, you might be wondering how to go about this. We aim to answer some of your questions and show you how it can be done – as proven by nearly half of our trainees! Hear from some of them and get stuck in with interactive workshops and practice group overviews. We’ll give you application tips and you’ll have plenty of chances to network with our brilliant lawyers.
It’s never too soon to start thinking about your future career. Our First Year Open Day is the perfect opportunity to gain an early insight into how a big, global law firm like ours operates, to see what we work on and which clients we work with. The day includes interactive workshops, practice group overviews, application tips and the opportunity to network with Partners, Associates, and Trainee Solicitors.
Studies have uncovered the disproportionate stress suffered by members of the LGBT+ community within the workplace, caused by the feeling of having to hide their identity at work. We want to change that. Hear the stories of LGBT+ lawyers at Baker McKenzie and ask any questions you have. The day includes interactive workshops, practice group overviews, application tips and the opportunity to network with Partners, Associates, and Trainee Solicitors.
